Volunteer Information

If you are interested in volunteering at the food closet,

please text a copy of your photo ID and email address to 916-287-1358 to receive the application link.

SCFM youth volunteers between the age of 10* and 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and/or be part of an organized group with adequate supervision. Youth volunteers between 14 and 18 must receive parental permission (clink for form) before volunteering at SCFM.

*Children under the age of 10 are not allowed to volunteer at the food closet.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE
ALL REQUESTS TO COMPLETE COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE WILL BE CONSIDERED ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS. PLEASE TEXT 916-287-1358 WITH A COPY OF YOUR PHOTO ID AND EMAIL ADDRESS TO REQUEST THE LINK TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A SHIFT WITHOUT RECEIVING APPROVAL FIRST. ANY SHIFTS COMPLETED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR COURT.

LIMITED COURT ORDERED SHIFTS ARE AVAILABLE. ALL REQUESTS FOR COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE ARE SUBJECT TO BACKGROUND CHECK AND APPROVAL BEFORE ANY SHIFTS MAY BE COMPLETED. PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS RECEIVED AFTER COMPLETING THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION.

Available Shifts/Tasks:

Full day shift (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m.-2 p.m.)**

Work in Food Closet Sorting Food, Stocking Shelves or Filling Bags with Food
Cleaning and Maintaining Facilities

Partial day shift (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.)**

Check-in Station- Checking in Clients
Filling Bags with Food for Clients
Sorting Produce and Bread
Loading Food into Clients' Vehicles
Restocking Shelves
Cleaning Facilities

**IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO WORK THE ENTIRE SHIFT YOU SIGN UP FOR, PLEASE TEXT THE DIRECTOR TO NOTIFY US THE SHIFT WILL BE SHORT. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A SHIFT THROUGH HANDS ON SACRAMENTO IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE FULL SHIFT.

IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL YOUR SHIFT THROUGH HANDS ON SACRAMENTO, PLEASE DECLINE YOUR SHIFT ASAP TO ALLOW SOMEONE ELSE TO SIGN UP.
